If Dan is old, I'm ancient as the hills...

This makes me laugh. Not just because Dan thinks he's old but because Korn thinks they're allowed to put out a greatest hits album. Who are they kidding?

Hey, Boston BPL, you're really making me mad

I was in love with you for a little while, what with your free wireless (or wired, your choice) internet access, your big nice reading room where people can go to get work done, your excellent location, and your new little cafes.

But then you have to go and do stupid stuff like put a zillion limitations on your internet access and rent yourself out to private functions that shut the library down for the public. The PUBLIC library. Not open to the public. Nice.

Just cut it out already. It's ridiculous. Aren't you supposed to be about free access to information? Yeah.

I think I've had too much soda. I don't think I'll have trouble falling asleep but I'm also not particularly sleepy at the moment.

OK, I'm making myself and Rob Reed go to sleep now. We had a crazy snowstorm this weekend and they initially did a good job of clearing the snow but now the roads are mush and apparently they aren't going to plow again. Doing laundry tonight was very very annoying (have to walk to the laundromat).

It's supposed to snow more tomorrow too. Fantastic.

Heather Ann

The Heather you may see in photos from Smith was a part of the group of four which also included me, [[bio-AmyW Amy]], [[bio-sheilagh Sheilagh]], and which for various somewhat stupid reasons, was called "Meance 4 Society". We were an anti-social little clan for the school year 1996-97 which was Heather's sophomore year, [[bio-sheilagh Sheilagh's]] senior year, my junior year and [[bio-AmyW Amy's]] junior/senior year because she graduated a semester early.

Me being the only junior in Washburn House that had to share a room (I volunteered to because I'm nice like that), I got first pick and we got the best double in the house. Heather also made her poor dad buy her a TV/VCR so the four of us spent most of our time in our room watching the TV instead of hanging out with our housemates. This turned out to be a somewhat smart move as there were many crazy first-years in the house that year, including several who decided to do many drugs in the house including crack and heroine. Nice.

Anyway, there are lots of fun stories about Heather and "Menace 4 Society" that perhaps I will post someday but in any case Heather and the rest of us had a falling out the fall after [[bio-AmyW Amy]] and I graduated and we haven't spoken since.

Heather Rose Martin

Note
I got in trouble for introducing Heather as Rob Reed's ex-girlfriend, but it's true. That was how I thought of her when I first met her anyway. Now I can't believe they dated for one second because I would have thought they'd murder each other. Ha ha.

Heather Rose is Rob Reed's ex-girlfriend. Gross. They are also best friends since they've known each other for a long time - they were something like 13 maybe when they met. But Heather or Rob Reed will have to specify that, I'm not precisely sure.

Like lots of best friends, they also sometimes hate each other, but it never lasts.

Heather is back in Boston after a long stint in Manhattan, Kansas, going to vet school. She now owes us free vet care for life (our lives, not the lives of our pets). Speaking of which, we may be having an at-home clinic where she gives Billy shots soon!

Heather likes to think she is the Queen of France which means everyone is too nice to her for no reason. Other than her royal status of course. She also likes to "examine" pets against their will now. She also frequently threatens to steal other people's babies. So keep a close eye on your dog and your kid.

Heather, Rob Reed and I make up the unoriginally named "badboy family", which is what Heather dubbed us at some point. We are a dysfunctional family but some kind of family nonetheless.

Eva Maria

Eva was our first exchange student. She came and lived with us my senior year of high school. She was from Gelsenkirchen, Germany. She was a pretty cool chick. We had a lot of fun despite our family's insanity, and despite the fact that one time [[bio-dan Dan]] swung his backpack into her face while we were waiting for the bus. [[bio-dan Dan]] wasn't always so nice in those days.

Poor Mom got spoiled having two daughters that year and was very sad when Eva left in July of 1994! I got to follow her to Germany and go on a crazy vacation with her divorced parents though. Lots of stories there. She calls her mom "Melone" which means "melon", and, according to her, it's because she's round like a melon. Poor Melone! It was a fun trip, I hopefully have a lot more pictures from it to post. I'm pretty sure I do.

If you go outside you're risking your life

At least that's what it says in this article. Billy didn't want to go too far to do his business this morning, that's for sure. We don't want to be trapped inside all day either, and it's fortunate that we live right downtown so we don't have far to go to get anywhere, but I'm not sure how many places might be closed and/or how impractical it might be to get places anyway. I guess you just walk in the middle of the road.

Joz

Michael Jozwik, aka "Joz", was on my staff at ASP in the summer of 1998, in scenic Tazewell, Virginia.

Jozwik is a special guy. He's a total bastard but he's a bastard with a heart of gold. It's an interesting combination. If you meet Jozwik, ask him to tell you a "fat kid" story. He was fat as a kid for a while and has many unfortunate tales about it. He's even a bastard to himself.

He performs with Flambango, an improv group in Chicago. I haven't seen them yet because I haven't been there since this group has been put together, but if you're in Chi-town I'm pretty sure you'll want to check this out. Unless you don't like laughing. Then stay far away.
