About my title photo:
Fall pumpkins in Northampton, MA.
Check out old title photos.
I will add to this post later but the short story is, robreed, Heather Rose and I went on a bike ride yesterday, the end of which culminated with Heather getting sideswiped by a truck near Central Square. Luckily she and her bike were relatively unscathed but it was very uncool. Below is a map of the ride. Click around to learn more!
(Actually, because of the level of detail you might just want to click on the "View Larger Map" link below.)
As robreed puts it so well, maybe you should think before you speak
People, how many ways can I tell you these are ugly? Mouse over images for comments.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I have never seen one person in real life or on TV or in any photograph ever taken by anyone who looks good in these. I PROMISE. Please, stop the madness.
I know no one can possibly think that, right?
Why would anyone think Sox fans, Patriots fans or Celtics fans were total and complete douchebags?
I have no earthly idea.
We know, we know. We're trying to fix them. At least that's what robreed tells me.
Seriously, folks, we're all class all the time. Check out Heather's post about the wonderful "celebrating" that people did outside her building last night, and then be sure to check out her Youtube video of how apparently every single car in the city last night felt the need to constantly blow their horn. This is also a type of "celebration" apparently.
This type of stuff reminds me of all the nice things about living way the fuck out in the middle of nowhere.
China, let me officially say right now, before you have achieved world domination and I'm your slave, FUCK YOU.
Seriously. If we're listing rules, I've got some rules for you fuckers.
I'm sure you call could care less but I just made a Plurk account because Twitter is always broken. We'll see what happens.
Really, this is the best place to come to read all my brilliance.
So the last 3 nights in a row we have lost power. Other than that, there is evidence we have lost power during the day while we are out at least 2 of those 3 days as well.
This means that very often our server is shutting down and/or we are unplugging it to keep it from getting destroyed.
So, for a little bit you may have problems accessing my blog and/or leaving comments on it even if it's up. Hopefully this will be remedied soon but it involves buying a UPS to plug all our computer shit into, so I am now taking donations for the "Rob and Jenn need to not lose their expensive computer equipment fund".
Thanks. I'm only half joking.
Kids, I need to get my summer shoes!
What should I get? A different kind, like maybe these or these? Or the classics?
Click on the photo of me below to see a gallery of photos I took at the game. Other people had better cameras (I had to borrow one from work because we're between cameras right now) and therefore I'm sure, better pictures. In fact I stole this one from one of them. I'll try to get some more posted soon.
So a crazy thing happened this week. On Thursday, 4 tickets to ridiculously good seats at Fenway were given to a friend at work, and so tonight the four of us were here:

It was so cool we barely knew what to do with ourselves.
Here is a little fun activity I stole from APatchworkWoman.

The questions:
1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food? right now?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. What is your favorite drink?
7. What is your dream vacation?
8. What is your favorite dessert?
9. What do you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. What is one word that describes you?
12. What is your flickr name?
It's interesting what pictures are returned.
I can't even bring myself to actually care about this at all because I hate both of them (and in case you almost had a heart attack reading that, no that certainly does not mean I'm voting for a Republican - I haven't lost my mind), but it's news I guess. Just trying to keep my throngs of readers up to date.
Belatedly, thanks for the birthday flowers Mom and Dad! Here is a photo. They're very bright and lovely! Also, I'm sure you'll notice some other items of interest in this photo.

Everyone knows, I assume, that smell is one of the strongest ties to memory. A familiar smell can instantly bring you back to a particular moment, remind you of a person or place, etc.
It always surprises me how amazing this really is. I've remembered things I hadn't thought of in years instantly, perfectly, just from catching a chance smell.
Caress soap and Cover Girl foundation and pressed powder always make me think of my mom when I was a little girl. The combined smell of these things just is her. I immediately think of our house on Maple Street and her getting ready in the bathroom.
Fresh sawdust instantly puts me in my summers with ASP, driving a rusty old pickup with the windows down, winding through the quiet mountain roads keeping an eye out for turtles and coal trucks.
Tareyton cigarettes make me think of my Grannie. I guess just because of this, that is the one cigarette smoke I actually like to smell. And of course there's almost no one in the world who smokes these. Do you know anyone who does? (Note: smoking is gross and killed my Gran, but the smell still makes me think of her in a good way.)
Fresh cut grass makes me think of our big old house on Mt. Zion Road in Pennsylvania. Maybe because I spent a lot of time mowing the lawn there when I was under the impression is was "cool" to do this chore because I got to use the riding mower!
Do you have any smells that have such strong memories for you?
*Name that quote!
Yeah, I know, comments may not be working. Sorry, we're working on it! If you want to comment in the meantime, just email me and I'll add the comment later. Thanks!
Check out robreed's coverage of last night's game.
I'm not really a big sports person, as you probably know if you know me, but I do usually like to watch playoffs etc. This game was CRAZY.
Apparently it just recently was banned for London's public transportation system, so until very recently was perfectly legal!
First of all, obviously once people are already drunk they're enough of a problem and you can't really keep drunk people off the T but imagine how much worse it could potentially be if they were allowed to continue drinking.
Yikes, London. What have you been dealing with all these years I wonder?
By the way, we recently tried a new little shop not far from us called Sweet. robreed wrote a much better review than I could, and also put up a nice photo gallery of our first expedition there, so check it out.
Here's the info on the place:

Click on the photo of Hester to check out my photos from my trip out to Northampton for my 10-year reunion a couple of weeks ago. (This was in Washburn House, which Clementine, Hashbrown and Hester and I visited early in our Reunion festivities... much to Hashbrown's boredom and my and Clementine's geeky delight!)
Thanks for stopping by!

Really?
Thanks, very nice of you.
First, check my
and there's no need to worry that I already have it or won't use it.
Tip: Check around for better pricing. Amazon's pricing is usually good, but not always the best available.
A quick Froogle search can't hurt.
