So, reason a million that I need to get going on reading Kurt Vonnegut, check out what Rob Reed has to say. I really do have to blame my crappy high school in Ohio. Nobody I knew (there, I mean) was reading Vonnegut that I'm aware of, nobody recommended him to me, etc. Now I know other folks, certain of which are big readers, who have of course. Unfortunately for me, some of them were living on another continent and didn't clue me in.
Anyway, I really feel like a moron for being so clueless and I'm ordering my first book today from Amazon (it's half price there kids, so I couldn't make myself buy it in a store over the weekend.)

Oh, I don't care about besmirching the dead. If I didn't like it I'd say so. But I think I will.

I read Slaughterhouse Five back when I belonged to a book club and bought lots of books and actually read a few. Can't say I really remember it though, it was about 10 years ago.

Yeah I can see how his books probably wouldn't appeal to (or be memorable for) some people. It doesn't seem like the sort of book you'd be into. But I'm pretty sure I'll like them. We'll have to see.

I just wanted to clarify me belonging to a book club. It was a club like Columbia House or BMG where they send you monthly stuff to look at and buy from and send the card back to say you wanted the monthly selection or not, not the kind of book club like Oprah crazies or yentas sitting around discussing. And I wasn't implying that by not remembering much about the book that I didn't like it. I don't remember much of anything I read or see, even my favorites! unless I read or see them multiple, multiple times, which still usually only works for movies, sometimes.

Ha ha. One of the most traumatic facts in my life is that one of my all time favorite books (and probably at this point more than one) became an Oprah's Book Club book well after I read it. I'm horrified because now you can't buy it without the stupid Oprah label on it. Damn Oprah.

Really?
Thanks, very nice of you.
First, check my
and there's no need to worry that I already have it or won't use it.
Tip: Check around for better pricing. Amazon's pricing is usually good, but not always the best available.
A quick Froogle search can't hurt.
