So recently robreed informed me of the existence of this magazine, thinking my nerdy crafty self would be interested. He was correct.
We bought an issue this weekend and I've barely started reading it and already am hooked. Make your own party dress! Make your own jeans (for only $45)! Cool fun new crafty blogs and such to read!
Check out the fruit head gang dolls! Or the awesome hand-dyed merino wool yarn! (Speaking of which, don't forget about this other fantastic hand-dyed wool yarn I discovered recently. And in fact, my mom gave me tons of this beautiful yarn for Christmas, which I'm so excited about!)
Nerdy crafty heaven.
Check out all the really cool stuff Jenny has going on. Photos, graphic design stuff, etc.
I'm an asshole for not doing more stuff like this myself as well. I was an art major you know. Well, most of you probably do know that since about 6 people read this and you all know me in real life. But I'm just saying.
I need to make more time in my life for fun cool art stuff.
Hey, here's one recent project - I made the map-marking graphics for Rob's Google Maps and Google Earth scripts and article he was working on, soon to be published online.
Here is a Google Map of a small collection of our photos. You can double click to center and zoom in. You can use the controls in the upper left to zoom in or out as well and also shift the map. I made all the little graphics that mark where the photos are.
Also, if you're interested, if you click on one of the markers it shows you a thumbnail of the photo and you can click on a link there to get to the whole gallery.
Everybody who's ever studied architecture or probably even art history has heard of the Glass House.
I really want to go see it.
Martha Stewart herself I am not offering my opinion on, but I love all the crazy tips you can find on marthastewart.com!
There is a "Good Things" section in each category now. Here is Home Decorating for starters.
And for some reason, this is one of my all-time favorite random things.
Know what I love a lot? Paper Source. If I could, I'd buy some of just about everything in this store and then while away all my time (because in this imaginary world where I could afford to buy everything in the store, I also don't have to work or do my own laundry or make my own dinner) making things with paper and stamps and markers and scissors and fancy paper cutters. I would print professional looking invitations to invite my friend Clementine to have coffee with me.
I would divide my time somewhat evenly between making pretty things out of paper, knitting pretty things, and watching fun TV and movies. I would have a rocking chair and a giant couch. Any pets would be non-shedding. Hmmm, my fantasy world is getting very detailed, let me cut myself off here.
The point was supposed to be that I love Paper Source.
Hey, look at this cool stuff for kitties. I know a certain kitty whose name begins with "E" and ends with "mily" who would love having that barrel up out of doggie reach on the wall in our apartment!
I think the birds are a funny idea and the mice are cute too.
Hey, check out this site, just being built still, of a girl I used to work with who makes really pretty earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. You should contact her if you want something unique and/or custom ordered. Really nice stuff!
Still under construction, but mostly done. The picture will change because that one is actually supposed to be at the top of Rob's blog. Also the green will probably go away in favor of the lighter purple currently on the page.
It's essentially the same as both Rob's and Heather's new sites, but can be customized by how I handle the graphic at the top and we can easily change colors, etc. if we want to.
Good job working up this new template, Rob Reed!
Look how cool the stuff is here. I love stuff like the test tube holder as a pen and pencil holder, the aluminum house numbers, the cable turtle, the marble paper clips, and lots of other stuff. I haven't been to the store in Cambridge... that's probably a good thing. But I like to stare at the cool things online.
Thanks for stopping by!

Really?
Thanks, very nice of you.
First, check my
and there's no need to worry that I already have it or won't use it.
Tip: Check around for better pricing. Amazon's pricing is usually good, but not always the best available.
A quick Froogle search can't hurt.
