Ha ha. I ask because I have spontaneously managed to fit in size 10 pants again, like in the olden days of early high school. Maybe it's the lower cut waists, I don't know. Maybe someone gets to the store before me and cuts out all the 12 tags and replaces them with 10s. I don't really think that because also all my size 12 pants that I've had for ages are too big now. Anyway, what did I do to accomplish this amazing feat? I ate badly and didn't exercise.

So first let me start off by saying that I don't own a scale and I'm anti-dieting and I am not a believer in counting calories and obsessive excercise. I do recognize that some of these things may help some people to get in better shape, but for the most part I see already-skinny people fussing over whether or not they can eat the roll with their turkey burger and how many strawberries they can have as their mid-afternoon snack, and how many miles they have to run to make up for the horror of eating some carbs yesterday. So I'm turned off to the whole thing. But for you, my adoring fans, I will reveal that last year Rob gave me a challenge to switch to diet soda. He bet me that if I drank no regular soda, only diet soda for one month, I would be converted. And basically it worked. It also made me lose some weight. I didn't change anything else about what I was eating or doing so that's the only thing I can attribute it to. (And ending a sentence with "to" is poor grammar.)
However, around the end of the summer this year I also inexplicably lost more weight. I at first blamed the stress of moving and lack of sleep, but it's stayed off. I haven't changed anything except where I live so either living on Beacon Hill makes you skinnier - maybe they put something in the water - or, is it possible that my diet soda conversion is still affecting me? Strange. I don't know the answers but I can tell you that I'm not exercising now any more than I was this time last year, I'm eating the same crap as always even maybe worse lately because I've been very snack-y, and I certainly never run or go to the gym. It must be the miracle of diet soda. In any case, I'm wearing a pair of size 10 cords from H&M and when I was in Tennessee I wore my mom's size 10 capris so I don't think I'm imagining it. Also, all my size 12 pants fall off of me except for one pair that are probably especially slim-cut, they're also stretch fabric and probably supposed to be tighter than I normally wear pants.
So, for all of you out there dying to buy me pants from one of my many lists of clothing I wish I could buy, please note that you should probably plan on buying me size 10.
